Energy-efficient cooling of buildings

The need to improve a building’s sustainability has become of crucial importance in the United Arab Emirates. With average temperatures of around 40° Celsius in summer, cooling accounts for most of a building’s energy consumption. Efficient insulation systems for buildings can thus contribute to realizing energy savings.

Sustainable and visually attractive construction

Exterior Insulating and Finishing Systems (EIFS) create a blanket around the building. In doing so, they keep the cool air inside and help reduce the air conditioning costs. One reference object where Senergy® Exterior Insulating and Finishing Systems were used is the “East Hotel” in Dubai. The new cladding lowers the hotel’s energy consumption by up to 50%.

EIFS offer efficient insulation and at the same time a great variety of possibilities to design attractive exteriors for sustainable buildings. They are made up of several layers: an air-weather barrier, an expanded polystyrene board (EPS), base coat, mesh and top coat.
