Environmentally sound and affordable housing

BASF House, Nottingham, UK

Since early 2008, the fact that environmentally sound housing is feasible from a technological as well as from a financial viewpoint is proven by the BASF House located on the premises of the University of Nottingham. BASF materials help reduce energy consumption, carbon dioxid emissions, and financial costs during construction, while at the same time increasing the comfort of living.

Customer requirement    Our solution
  • Energy-efficient and comfortable living environment
  • Affordable realization

  • Rheocell® ICF admixture, increases concrete workability, reduces aggregate portion
  • High-grade building systems products

Sustainable concrete solutions

Thermal insulation on the ground floor is provided for by the use of Insulated Concrete Forms made of Neopor®. They are filled with low-energy concrete containing our Rheocell ICF. Thanks to that admixture, the freshly-mixed concrete is easer to process. Also, Rheocell increases the concrete’s insulation properties, thus supporting insulation through Neopor. Rheocell causes tiny air-pockets to be formed in the freshly-mixed concrete, which results in improved concrete properties.

High-grade building systems materials

Bathroom, kitchen, and sun terrace owe their appealing looks to a multitude of our building systems products, among them the PCI Nanolight® tile adhesive. It is suitable for different kinds of tiles and substrates and is easy to process as well. For the bathroom walls, the waterproofing insulation solution is a Pecidur® supporting element made of high-resistance foam.
