Saving maintenance costs
The traditional method for tunnel waterproofing consists of a multilayer system: shotcrete, a geotextile drainage layer, a sheet membrane and another layer of concrete. Comparatively, this solution takes up quite some space. Its rather open layer structure makes up a possible weakness. The monolithic structure of the BASF solution with a MASTERSEAL® 345 membrane additionally improves load distribution besides reliable sealing properties and thus makes the construction once more durable.
Easy to apply
The MASTERSEAL® 345 membrane is a thin spray-on-sealing solution. It enables waterproof refurbishment of tunnels with just 5 cm extra lining thickness and seals easily any geometry. While the conventional system requires each layer to be applied using a different application method, the new system allows for all three layers to be applied using the same machine.
