In an eco-efficiency analysis BASF experts compared several Heck insulation systems with renovation methods that do not provide for thermal insulation. The result: Insulating the outer walls saves heating costs, is environmentally friendly, and is profitable after about ten years. Within the study’s propositions, building owners would be able to reduce their energy requirements for heating from 21 to 13 liters per square meter and year just by insulating the outer walls – an almost 40 percent cost reduction. Carbon dioxide emissions, too, are reduced by about 40 percent. |
